Liverpool look on course for the Premier League title too but, such has been their level of form this season, failing to add to that with another trophy could actually be seen as a relative disappointment.

With Champions League hopes over following a penalty shootout to defeat to PSG on Tuesday night, winning the Carabao Cup at Wembley would prove the perfect response.

Newcastle, however, have trophy dreams of their own.

Eddie Howe’s side are desperate to right the wrongs of their defeat to Manchester United at this stage in 2023, having failed to lay much of a glove during their first domestic final in a generation.

One win away from a first major trophy since 1955, Newcastle are on the brink of history.

TV channel: The game will be broadcast on free-to-air coverage on ITV and STV. Coverage starts at 3.30pm GMT ahead of a 4.30pm kick-off time.

The game will also be shown on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Ultra HDR, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Showcase. Sky’s coverage begins at 3pm.
