PSG have won four games in a row going into Wednesday’s clash, beating Toulouse 3-1 in their most recent outing.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have lost back-to-back games against Brighton and Manchester City, and have won only one of the last five games.

What’s been said?

PSG boss Luis Enrique: “It doesn’t matter who the favourites are, because in this type of match, it’s impossible to have a favourite,” said Enrique.

“I don’t believe we are favourites. Last year, everyone said it was Liverpool and we qualified. The first leg last season was a very, very high-level match. I would sign up for the same match but not for the same result.

“We hope to have more of the ball than Liverpool, but we know how difficult it is, because they are a very good team with a very good coach.”

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot: “The good thing is that during this year we have become quite experienced in terms of negativity because of all the setbacks we’ve had this season.

“This was a big one because it was the quarter-final, because it was a big loss, because it was against our rivals. But for me it felt just as bad when we were 3-2 up at Leeds and we conceded in extra time and when we were going 2-1 up against Fulham and we conceded in extra time.

“If I start to name all the setbacks we had this season, I see other people want to ask questions [in this press conference], then it’s probably not possible [to list them all].”
