Hamburg confirmed that they reached the 150,000 members milestone on Thursday. After reaching the 100,000 mark while they were in 2. Bundesliga back in October 2023, the traditional club have now joined FC Bayern (432,500), Borussia Dortmund (238,109), Schalke 04 (220k), Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt (both 160k) with their new landmark.

To commemorate their special moment, a message was placed directly on the Elbe River, which is Hamburg's gateway to the North Sea. VfB Stuttgart and Borussia Mönchengladbach are the other two Bundesliga clubs with over 100,000 members, while Europa League finalists SC Freiburg reached 80,000 members.

“150,000 members make HSV one of the strongest communities in German sport,” club president Henrik Köncke noted with pride. “This number shows how deeply HSV moves people in Hamburg and far beyond. We are very grateful for this support.”

HSV board member Eric Huwer also commented on the new development. “150,000 members is no coincidence. That’s simply HSV. Our club brings people together across generations in the sports departments, at the Volksparkstadion, in Hamburg and far beyond the city. The greatest strength of this club is its people.”
