Chelsea slumped to their fourth defeat in a row in all competitions on Saturday evening with a 3-0 defeat against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Blues failed to take advantage of Liverpool’s defeat to Brighton and remain sixth in the league with just seven games remaining.
Chelsea’s form isn’t the only issue, as there’s now a situation developing around the future of Fernandez, who captained the side against Everton.
Fernandez appeared to cast doubt over his future following the defeat to PSG, and he’s been linked with both Real Madrid and PSG in the past.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed Fernandez so far hasn’t been able to agree a new contract, but Cahill has insisted he’s got a good relationship with Liam Rosenior and is committed to the club.
“No, I don’t think so,” he told Sky Sports.
“When he spoke, he was misinterpreted with some of the words that he said. And emotionally, it was too quick to speak after the game, very emotional.
“He’s one of the leaders in the dressing room and I know he has a great relationship with the manager.
“I think he’s fully committed, and you’ve seen that today again with the captain’s armband.”
The defeat to Everton has seen the pressure increase once again on Rosenior, with many supporters wanting him replaced during the international break.

However, it’s been reported the Blues aren’t currently considering a change in the dugout, despite it being apparently obvious Rosenior is out of his depth.
Chelsea expect Champions League football, and with just seven games remaining Rosenior needs to get a level of performance out of this group that he’s been unable to in recent weeks.
