The signing of Alejandro Garnacho did not get Chelsea fans too excited last summer, and despite some flashes of good form here and there, they’ve not been proven wrong.
The former Manchester United winger has insisted that the best is yet to come and has pointed out that it’s often tricky to settle in at a club early on.
“Sometimes the first seasons are more hard, but yeah, I will work really hard in the 7-8 games we have left, then the summer, try to train from the start, to prepare the next season, and to be ready to show my best,” the winger said.
“Because I know what I can do, and this the most important thing.”
Garnacho has yet to hold down a starting spot for an extended period, and that’s got to be his first objective next season. He’s a willing runner, but he needs to deliver in terms of goals and assists when he’s on the pitch if he wants to displace the likes of Pedro Neto and Estevao next year.
Liam Rosenior’s press conference today had a lot of Enzo Fernandez focus, and the Chelsea boss explained he’s smoothed things over with his midfielder after suspending him.
The Chelsea boss also insisted that his team can beat anyone, despite their poor record against Man City.
