Alexandre Pato has spoken movingly about his enduring emotional connection to Milan, a club where he experienced some of the most significant seasons of his career before injuries gradually curtailed his time in Italy.
Speaking to Sky Sport, via MilanNews24, the Brazilian forward, once one of the most exciting young talents in world football before a series of physical setbacks limited his consistency, was candid about how deeply the club’s results still affect him to this day.

“When they lose it affects me a lot, because I care so much,” Pato said.
“For me it was not just a club, it was love. I am in love with Milan as if I were in love with my son, so I always hope they can grow a lot. Okay, this year went badly, it was not what they expected, but you can learn from this moment and still have the opportunity to do better and also return to the Champions League. I wish the best to Ibra, to everyone, and hope they can reach the Champions League next year.”
The comments reflect a relationship between Pato and the Rossoneri that has remained intact despite a spell defined as much by flashes of brilliance as by the recurring injury problems that prevented him from fulfilling his full potential at San Siro.
