Last night was a special one for FC Barcelona fans as they saw their team take the top spot in the La Liga table by beating a difficult Real Sociedad side. The Catalans had to come back from behind to get the full three points, with Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski scoring the goals to get their side a 1-2 win.

However, one player for whom this match will be particularly memorable is youngster Pedro Fernandes (commonly known as Dro Fernandes), who not only made his official first-team debut but also earned a place in the starting lineup.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the youngster also talked to the media after the game, and expressed his happiness and surprise at getting a start in this game:

“I’m happy, very happy. It’s incredible. When the coach told me at the hotel that I was starting, I couldn’t believe it. I was so nervous… The official debut is something unique, and the first time is very special, but then I calmed down.”

Dro also mentioned how Flick and the locker room helped him settle down a bit at such an exciting moment:

“The players and the coach reassured me; they told me to just do what I do well in training, and that gave me confidence.”

With this debut, one can hope that Dro will only go on to showcase his talents more often with the first team going forward. Hopefully, he will continue getting the chances to shine, and will turn out to be the next big talent to make the jump from La Masia to the Barcelona first team.
