FC Barcelona are always a major subject in terms of news and media speculation. After all, given the club’s prestige and global popularity, it makes sense. Moreover, Barcelona remains home to some of the world’s best footballers as well.
Even today, players like 17-year-old Lamine Yamal continue to represent Barcelona and help the club both on the pitch and off the pitch as well. Being aware of this, Barcelona have already renewed the youngster’s contract as well until 2031.
However, the appreciation for Yamal does not just come from within Barcelona. In fact, the young Spanish sensation has managed to capture of hearts of people from around the world, including the likes of top players and even legends of the game.
The latest great of the game to add to the praises of Lamine Yamal, however, is none other than Manchester City coach and Barcelona legend Pep Guardiola. A man who needs no introduction, he has managed to coach two separate golden eras for both Barcelona and his current team.
During a recent interview, as quoted by Reshad Rahman, Guardiola even mentioned Yamal as a player that he would like to coach, although he did admit that it is something that would be very unlikely to happen:

While it is definitely meant to compliment Yamal, it also does confirm two other details subtly. One, Guardiola does not see himself coaching either Barcelona or Spain any time soon. Secondly, it also possibly rules out any consideration from Manchester City to acquire the player at the moment. Interestingly, he has spoken about the youngster even apart from this as well.
At the same time, however, football is extremely unpredictable and nothing is a guarantee at any point. Still, Yamal’s future with the Catalan giants seems to be as close to being guaranteed as something gets in football, and the club is itself also quite invested in acquiring other players during this ongoing summer transfer window, including Spanish goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
