‘If it wasn’t for him…’ – Arsenal star hails Barcelona’s Joan García | OneFootball

Arsenal star David Raya has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of Barcelona counterpart Joan García.

This comes amid the latter’s ongoing efforts to carve out for himself a place in the plans of Spain headmaster Luis de la Fuente.

Joan was for his part afforded a first-ever senior Spanish call-up this month, for the March international break.

As much came as just rewards for a sensational debut campaign on the books of Barcelona to date.

Joan was subsequently left out of La Roja’s matchday squad for a friendly meeting with Serbia this evening, still sitting behind the trio of Unai Simón, Álex Remiro and the aforementioned Raya in the country’s pecking order between the posts.

As alluded to above, though, one member of this shot-stopper trio in no two minds when it comes to his compatriot’s abilities is Raya.

Speaking during an exchange with Esport3 on Friday, Arsenal’s gifted no.1 assured:

“If it weren’t for Joan García, Barça wouldn’t be where they are…”
