Seoul E-Land has started the 2025 K League 2 season in similar fashion to the year prior. With some big wins already under their belt, they find themselves near the top of the league table heading into May. Featuring a mix of new arrivals and returning players, the team has gelled quickly—thanks in large part to the squad’s experience and cohesion. One player who has especially embraced his new life in Seoul is Euller Silva. The number seven for the Leopards has enjoyed a strong start to the season. In this interview, Michael Redmond (MR) sat down with Euller to talk about his time in South Korea, life at Seoul E-Land, and what fans can expect from the team in 2025.

MR: You have played in Brazil, Portugal, Cyprus, and Japan. How does the K League compare to those leagues, and what do you enjoy the most about playing in Korea?

Euller: In my humble opinion, KLeague especially stands out in terms of physicality and intensity. The tempo of the game is so fast and it makes the viewers excited to watch the games. Additionally, I’ve also been surprised by the technical quality. It’s only been four months since I started playing here, but I can already feel how the football in this league has been positively evolving both tactically and technically, so I’ve been enjoying it a lot. MR: Seoul E-Land started the season well, with only a few small setbacks. The team is still in the race for the playoffs and possibly even for the title. What are your thoughts on how the team will perform this year with the current squad? Euller: We’ve had a good start, and I hope our group can keep this momentum going. If we manage that, I’m confident we’ll be the fighting for promotion to K League 1. MR: From the outside, it looks like there is strong team chemistry this season, especially among the foreign players. How would you describe the atmosphere in the dressing room? Euller: Yes, absolutely. Everyone gets along really well on and off the field — even the foreigners with the Korean players. I can feel that the team is very united and solid. MR: In several videos posted on Seoul E-Land’s YouTube channel, you are seen standing up and addressing the team. You appear to be a leader. Do you consider yourself a leader both on and off the field? Euller: I’ve been playing professionally for 12 years now. I’ve experienced it all — tough moments that helped me grow, and many happy ones too. I try to use those experiences to support younger players, and also others I feel comfortable talking to during training. I believe I can help the team with the experience I’ve gained over the years. MR: You have already scored some impressive goals and provided some excellent assists. What has been your personal highlight of the season so far? Euller: I think my most important goal so far was against Cheonan. It was raining, and we didn’t create many chances in the first half. Fortunately, I was able to score a goal at the end of the first half and that gave us the lead, bringing us more confidence, and in the second half, we went on to win 3-0. So I’d say that goal was the most important one as for now. MR:Seoul E-Land has been improving every year. Last season, the fans showed strong support for the manager, and they continue to do so this season. What has your experience been like working with the coaching staff, and how have they helped you to grow as a player? Euller: The coaching staff welcomed me really well and has been giving me great support. I’ve already played more than 20 matches this season considering the matches this season in the Portugal League, and we talk a lot about strategies to avoid injuries. Overall, I have a great relationship with the staff, and it is all based on respect and hard work. MR: The fans chant your name at every game. You have become a favourite among supporters at Leoul Park and those watching from around the world. How does it feel to hear your name being sung by the fans? Euller: I’m always happy to hear my name being called, and I’m grateful to every fan who comes out to support us. I hope to keep performing well this season and help the team even more. MR: With the strength of this year's squad, where do you see Seoul E-Land finishing in the K League 2 this season? Euller: We know this league is tough, with a lot of strong teams, but our goal is clear — we want to finish in first place.
