Since last season, Raphinha has firmly established himself as one of the most influential figures in this FC Barcelona side. The Brazilian winger enjoyed a remarkable 2024/25 campaign, the best of his professional career, setting multiple personal records and playing a decisive role in one of the most successful seasons in recent club history.

His impact was recognised recently at Mundo Deportivo’s Grand Gala, where he was among the awardees during the newspaper’s 78th gala, which also marked its 120th anniversary.

Raphinha received the CUPRA Trophy, presented by Víctor Sarasola, and used the occasion to underline his happiness at the club. Speaking to journalist Jordi Basté, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, the forward was clear about his feelings towards life at Barça.

“It’s what I was looking for when I arrived at this club. I’m very happy to be able to do what I wanted.”

Raphinha will miss Barcelona’s Copa del Rey clash against Albacete due to a muscular overload. The Brazilian, however, was quick to downplay the issue and offered reassurance about his condition.

“I’m a bit tired, but I’m fine. In theory, it will be a short time. I’m trying to recover to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.”

He also reacted to comments made during the gala about the possibility of the 2030 World Cup final being held at the Spotify Camp Nou. While the idea is appealing, Raphinha remained grounded about his future with the national team.

“I’m someone who lives day by day. The 2030 World Cup is still a bit far, but I take care of myself a lot and always try to be at my best. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but maybe I’ll make it.”

Barcelona still possess significant attacking depth, but Raphinha’s absence is likely to be felt against an Albacete side that has already shown its ambition by eliminating Real Madrid from the competition.

For Barça, the priority will be ensuring that one of their most decisive players returns to full fitness soon, as his leadership and quality continue to be central to their ambitions across all competitions.
