Since joining Bayern Munich in August 2023 for €100m, Harry Kane, 32, has become a leading figure in Germany, excelling on and off the pitch. He has become an even more complete player this season.
According to L'Équipe, early scepticism over paying so much for a 30-year-old faded quickly as Kane scored freely from the outset, and his influence has kept growing.
During Jamal Musiala’s lay-off from July 2025 to mid-January following a fibula fracture, Kane often dropped into a playmaker role, spraying diagonals and threading through balls. He is valued inside the dressing room for modesty and good humour, with team-mates praising his professionalism.
There have been no scandals or airs. Punctual and polite, he routinely spends time with reporters after home matches at the Allianz Arena. Journalist Frank Linkesch, who has covered Bayern for about 20 years, highlights Kane’s spontaneity, love of the game and evident happiness at the club.
His draw is vast, with about 120,000 Kane shirts sold since his arrival, a Bayern record, and 18 million Instagram followers. Former captain Stefan Effenberg believes Kane has supercharged the Bundesliga’s reach, with supporters across Germany keen to see him in person.
On the pitch the numbers are stark, 45 goals in 37 matches this season in all competitions, combined with a gentlemanly demeanour toward colleagues, staff, media and fans. Bayern’s hierarchy look vindicated for pursuing a new elite striker so persistently two and a half years ago.
