Club Brugge youngster Aleksandar Stankovic is looking forward to the possibility of returning to Inter Milan in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the 20-year-old midfielder confirmed that he is still a die-hard Nerazzurri fan.
Inter sold Aleksandar Stankovic last summer.
Indeed, a lack of regular first-team football forced the sought-after teenager leave San Siro for the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Furthermore, it has proved to be a career-defining choice.
Stankovic has emerged as one of this season’s breakout stars, making 37 competitive appearances for the Belgian powerhouse.
And his stunning performances have not gone unnoticed.
Several top teams, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund, have set their sights on the Primavera graduate.
However, Stankovic is more likely to return to Inter at the end of the season, with the Nerazzurri set to activate a buyback clause.
Meanwhile, the player is enthusiastic about returning to his old stomping ground.

“I am aware that I have an important surname, especially when I was in Inter’s youth teams,” Stankovic said. “It wasn’t easy having that name.
“However, my former coach, Cristian Chivu, used to tell me: ‘In football, no one looks at your ID.’
“My relationship with him is special; he played for many years with my dad.
“For me, Inter is special, and even talking about it is difficult.
“I think any Inter fan who hears me say this understands that speaking about Inter isn’t simple; you either have it in your heart, or you don’t.
“You don’t need many words for Inter: it’s a unique love, and it’s something I can never hide.
“It makes me happy to know that Inter follows me and watches me, because I was born in Milan.
“And as an Inter fan, it’s nice to know the club is keeping an eye on me.
“But I am a Brugge player, and I have full respect and love for this club, the coach, and my teammates.
“Right now, my focus is here in Belgium. As for the future, as I always say, only God knows.”
Asked whether returning to Inter would be more of a dream or a realistic target, he replied: “More of a dream that’s still in the drawer, which maybe one day, I don’t know when, will come true.
“But my current dream is to stay here for two seasons and do very well.
