Injury updates on 4 Arsenal players pre-Port Vale clash | OneFootball

Mikel Arteta gave updates on four Arsenal injuries during his press conference on Tuesday, including new problems for Noni Madueke and Piero Hincapie.

Reports on Tuesday confirmed that Noni Madueke is going to be out for at least six weeks with a knee injury, with many suggesting a two-month absence is the most likely outcome.

“Yes, it looks he’s going to be out for a few weeks,” Mikel Arteta confirmed. “We don’t know yet, we’re probably going to have to scan him next week again. He felt something at the beginning of the match, he tried to carry on, and at half-time, he was too sore, so let’s see.

“As I said, we need to scan him again to see the real extent of the injury, but it doesn’t look too bad.”

Then Piero Hincapie was also absent from Arsenal’s squad against Manchester City, and Arteta revealed the player has a groin injury.

“He picked up a little groin injury,” Arteta said. “We’ll have to assess him again in the next few days to see how he goes. There’s been a change of load, and he didn’t really have a pre-season after the surgery that he had.

“We’ll have to see in the next week or so how he is [but] I think it will be a short time.”

In better news, Arteta confirmed that Martin Odegaard is already back in training, and that he should be back on the pitch imminently.

“No surgery. He’s totally fine. He’s already been training and it will be a matter of days I think.”

As for long-term injury absentee Kai Havertz, the Arsenal boss suggested it will still be a while until we see him in action again.

“With Kai, we know that it will be months with him,” Arteta said. “I don’t know if it can be weeks, you never know because this is Kai and he’s a different specimen. We really miss him.

“Hopefully, he will be back, and back for the long term as well, so it is very important to look after that knee. So far, he’s progressing pretty well.”

On top of those four, Gabriel Jesus also remains absent as he slowly works his way back from an ACL injury. There’s no expectation he’ll be back in the mix anytime soon, with a return at the end of 2025 the most likely outcome.
