‘Wow wow wow, what a performance what a game!

It finally all came together to bring our first league away win of the season.

Thank you Miley for that special Pickford moment and then Big Nick making it extra special with that exquisite finish past him again.

Special mention – Thiaw Thiaw Thiaw!!!

Two home games to come, bring it on!’

Billy Miller:

‘A tremendous debut at the Hill Dickinson.

Shows how important that second goal is.

I think we’d have won all those previous away games that we took the lead in, if we’d managed a two goal lead.

Had Everton’s consolation been an equaliser, I’d have feared us leaving with nothing again.

Had Pickford to thank for fumbling Miley’s strike. Always nice to see a Geordie embarrassing the Mackem.

Loads of fantastic performances with the Deutsch Duo being my personal pick. Thiaw immense and grabbing a brace amongst it all. I thought that was Woltemade’s best performance so far. Outstanding link up play and a class goal of his own.

The trio of league games starting with Man City could have left us in a perilous position but we’ve won two of the three and Spurs at St James’ next.

I don’t want to jinx it but we’ve won the last four of that fixture including one this season already. A Black and White Saturday for us all to enjoy. ‘

Matt Busby said…:

‘Back to back wins in the Premier League and we’re finally looking up the table.

Some great performances throughout the entire team and for once, things just clicked.

What a finish from Woltemade. Two great headers from Thiaw and brilliant to see Miley get on the score sheet.

Big Dan Burn a colossus in his favoured position and our two young full backs give us so many options.

And was today the day we finally got to see the real Tony Elanga?

Final point.

It’s been such a disastrous start to the season that if we win either of our next two games, it’ll still be better than how we started last season. Could have ended as runners up two games out last season. Just saying…’

Tony Mallabar:

‘I’ve heard of turning the air blue, but woke up this morning and managed to turn my bathroom toilet green, after a fried spam fritter incident for tea last night.

So no first visit to the scouse mackemdome for me.

Got rid of my ticket (through the ticket transfer scheme, before anyone thinks of grassing me to the club).

So it was Eddie Howe’s firestick Mags again for me..,and what a performance.

Eddie ringing the changes and boy did it work, composed and clinical finishing, especially from big nick.

Now being Newcastle’s number one fickle fan, I’ve given Lewis miley the odd pelter on here. But well done son, man of the match for me.’

Mark Jankowski:

Newcastle’s long wait for an away winning the Premier League came to an emphatic end this evening.

What a result and what a performance.

Everyone was excellent but I thought there were season best performances for several players, including Louis Miley and Anthony Elanga.

The disappointment of midweek was quickly put behind us and we can look forward to a big week ahead with Spurs and Burnley coming to St James’.’

GToon:

‘Brilliant performance tonight. That was great to watch.

Some of the players were absolutely outstanding.

Just how good are our full-backs. They were unplayable. Grealish and Ndiaye didn’t get a look in.

And BDB in his correct position was top class.

And what about Thiaw. I can’t see Schar taking his place now.

The goals were great but I loved Nick’s chip over T-Rex.

Happy days for us and a happy birthday for Eddie.’

David Punton:

‘A week’s a long time in football.

This one has felt like a month, a proper Toon rollecoaster ride.

Elation of the Man City game, devastation in Marseille, and then this annihilation of Everton at their nice new stadium.

Howe got some stick in midweek, so he gets all the credit tonight – a win on his birthday too.

The talking point pre Kick off was Nick Pope. Omitted (apparently injured) and Ramsdale in between the sticks.

Everton off the back of that famous win at Old Trafford beaten comfortably.

Thiaw is a monster of a player.

A huge win, and on the road too. Savouring every moment.’
