Inter interested in Juventus’ Nico Gonzalez, initial contact made | OneFootball

Serie A champions Inter want to add a new wing-back option to their squad and apart from Mousa Diaby, they are also keen on Juventus’ Nico Gonzalez.

The Argentine spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid but never truly impressed. But he featured at the World Cup for Argentina and showcased his value while playing an impact-making role on the left wing.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that he is indeed of interest to Inter. The Nerazzurri are also interested in Moussa Diaby and he is their priority but a deal for him could prove expensive. Besides, Al-Ittihad would want the deal to be done on their terms and this is complicated things.

As a result, the idea of signing Gonzalez is gaining traction.

Inter had considered the Argentine even last summer before he joined Atleti. Now, there has been initial contact with his entourage and a move is being assessed and evaluated.

Deal could be worth it

Gonzalez isn’t a natural wing-back but his ability to cover distance can help Inter convert him into one. He can play on either side and is out of Juventus’ project, which could make the deal easier and well worth the effort, because of his versatility.
