Inter are pondering a substantial summer overhaul of their midfield. They have already added one new piece, Luka Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb, whose acquisition will be announced once the transfer market formally opens. They won’t stop there, TuttoSport informs (via Fantacalcio).
Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani are in demand and could ask out to play more. The management will ponder the offers for them. Their performances haven’t always been on point, even though they have been precious contributors in some stretches, especially late in the season.
Inter will also have a decision to make about Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has hinted at retiring at the end of the season. Simone Inzaghi would gladly confirm him. His minutes are bound to decrease, though.
At this stage, only Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolò Barella, and Piotr Zielinski are safe bets to stay put. The hierarchy is eyeing a few Serie A options to replenish their depth. They have shortlisted Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, who’d back up the Turk. They have a great rapport with Venezia, given the previous deals with them involving Filip Stankovic, Gaetano Oristanio, Franco Carboni, and Andrei Radu.
For the other roles, the candidates are Genoa’s Morten Frendrup and Bologna’s Giovanni Fabbian, on whom they have a buy-back clause. They haven’t stopped pursuing Nico Paz. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid’s plans for him will change under a new manager.
It’ll depend on whether their two youngsters will indeed push to leave. All the rumored names would be less cumbersome and pretty affordable, besides the Como star, who’d have to be a regular once he completes a not-so-challenging transition to box-to-box.
