Inter Milan striker Ange-Yoan Bonny praised his teammate Andy Diouf after tonight’s scintillating 5-1 romping of Venezia.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, Bonny hailed his compatriot’s resurgence following a slow start.
Cristian Chivu decided to give the Frenchman his first-ever start in Inter colors after his impressive display against Pisa.
Indeed, Diouf replaced Luis Henrique on the right wing on Sunday and excelled.
However, he operated on the opposite flank tonight, taking Federico Dimarco’s place in the starting XI.
Only 18 minutes into his first start in Italian football, Andy Diouf opened the scoring, pouncing on Davide Frattesi’s assist.
Despite grabbing an early lead, Inter refused to rest on its laurels.
Instead, Chivu’s charges tore Venezia apart, with Francesco Pio Esposito scoring his first club goal at San Siro.
Furthermore, Marcus Thuram notched up a double, while Bonny scored off the bench.
As a result, Inter extended their winning home streak against Venezia to six matches and strolled to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

Bonny refused to hide his appreciation for Diouf’s contribution tonight.
“It was a great evening for the whole team,” he said. “I’m happy for the win and for the goal.
“We’re happy for him. He didn’t have an easy start at first, but today he’s showing everyone his true value.”
Diouf operated as a left wingback this evening, which didn’t prevent him from getting on the scoresheet.
Indeed, he deputized for Federico Dimarco as Chivu decided to rest his starting wingback ahead of the upcoming clash against Como.
Despite being new to the role, Diouf was remarkable, perhaps announcing his return to form after an underwhelming start.
