Inter Milan and AC Milan will reportedly turn down the proposal presented by WeBuild for the San Siro renovation plans in tomorrow’s crunch meeting at the city’s municipality.

The two clubs have been working on separate plans over the past year or so. The Rossoneri are considering a stadium in the San Donato region, while the Nerazzurri opted for Rozzano. Both areas are on the outskirts of Milano.

Nevertheless, Milano mayor Beppe Sala has been keen to keep the two clubs within the city walls.

He at least managed to convince them to halt their exit plans and consider a plan to renovate the San Siro.

In June, WeBuild, the company entrusted with setting up the project, presented its detailed plan for the two clubs.

Milan and Inter have been carefully evaluating it ahead of a crucial meeting that will ensue on Friday.

According to La Repubblica via FcInterNews, the two clubs will express their doubts over the project.

They believe a renovated San Siro won’t provide the same benefits as a new stadium.

Therefore, the source believes the Giuseppe Meazza would be better suited for a mini-restyling ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games and the EURO 2032.

Inter Milan & AC Milan Considering Building New Stadium Next To Current San Siro Ground

In the meantime, Milan and Inter are considering building a shared stadium to lower the costs.

The Rossoneri are trying to persuade the Nerazzurri to join them on their San Donato project. However, the Italian champions don’t find it appealing.

Therefore, the two Serie A giants could reconsider building a new stadium next to the current Giuseppe Merazza ground in San Siro.

The source claims this idea has been gaining steam recently.
