Despite dominating the game in Turin, Inter Milan came out empty-handed as Juventus grabbed a narrow 1-0 win.

Indeed, Francisco Conceicao’s second-half winner toppled the Nerazzurri, inflicting their third league loss this term.

However, Simone Inzaghi masterminded an immediate comeback as Inter squeaked past Genoa 1-0 last weekend.

Though it wasn’t Inter’s most impressive performance, Lautaro Martinez got his side back to winning ways.

Following a four-game scoring drought in Serie A, the Argentine striker turned home Hakan Calhanoglu’s cross to end the duck.

In doing so, Martinez took his seasonal league tally to ten goals, closing the gap on Marcus Thuram to three.

Inter looked tired against Genoa but still managed to get the job done.

Martinez grabbed the spotlight as he headed home Calhanoglu’s corner-kick delivery in the 78th minute.

However, he admitted he and his teammates weren’t up to their standard in that fixture.

“What didn’t I like? The quality – we didn’t show much of it,” he replied to Nicola Ventola.

“The team was a bit tired, but the important thing was to get the three points.”

Then, he addressed the bitter defeat against Juventus.

“In Turin, we played with a lot of quality in the first half but missed too many chances,” he stated. “That defeat was very painful.

“But today, we had to show a different image.”

Despite that setback, Inter leapfrogged Napoli at Serie A’s table summit over the weekend.

Indeed, they took advantage of Napoli’s slump at Como to go a point clear of Antonio Conte’s side.
