Inter Milan are continuing to scan the market for elite young talent and have now been linked with highly-rated Bosnian prospect Kerim Alajbegovic.

According to reports from Reprezentacija.ba, via FCInterNews, the 2007-born attacker, currently on the books at Red Bull Salzburg, could be on the move sooner than expected.

An eventual return to Bayer Leverkusen had previously been considered the most likely scenario.

However, new information suggests a different path may now be taking shape.

The Bosnian outlet claims that Alajbegovic could change clubs as early as January, with Inter joined by Roma and Lazio in monitoring his situation.

All three Serie A sides are reportedly attentive to developments, viewing the youngster as a long-term investment with significant upside.

Alajbegovic remains under contract with Salzburg until 2029. However, Bayer Leverkusen retain a buy-back clause that allows them to re-sign the player at any time.

Despite that safeguard, the report explains that the original plan for a return to Germany in the summer is now less certain.

“Alajbegović has a contract with Salzburg until 2029.

However. Leverkusen have the right to buy him back at any moment,” Reprezentacija.ba notes.

“The previous plan was for him to return to Leverkusen in the summer. But current information suggests it is likely he will move to a third club, possibly even earlier.”

Inter’s interest fits a broader recruitment strategy focused on securing emerging talents before their market value accelerates.

With Roma and Lazio also in the picture, competition for Alajbegovic’s signature could intensify quickly.
