Inter Milan Duo’s Agent Says Contract Extension Talks ‘Will Come In Due Time’ – Adds Venezia ‘A Great Opportunity’ For Nerazzurri Outcast | OneFootball

The agent of Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij says that contract extension talks with Inter Milan will come “in due time.”

Agent Federico Pastorello spoke to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb. He also called joining Venezia “a great opportunity” for out-of-favour Inter goalkeeper Andrei Radu.

Currently, Inter defenders Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June.

The two former Lazio defenders are certainly experienced figures in the Inter backline.

Acerbi has been dealing with injuries this season. These have restricted the amount that he has been able to play quite a bit.

However, when the 36-year-old is available, the standard of his performances has remained high.

Meanwhile, de Vrij has had to play regularly with Acerbi out. And the Dutchman has put in a string of excellent performances at the back.

De Vrij really underlined his value with his goal in the derby against AC Milan yesterday. He scored in stoppage time to salvage a point for Inter.

Agent Of Acerbi & De Vrij: “Contract Talks With Inter Milan In Due Time”

In terms of their quality and fit in the team, there are doubts about Acerbi or de Vrij.

However, both of the pair are well into their thirties. Acerbi will turn 37 this month, whilst de Vrij will turns 37.

Therefore, it is far from certain that Inter will extend the contract of either. Particularly Acerbi, considering his age and his recent injuries.

And there is no doubt that Inter will sign a younger defender in the summer to inherit the duo’s role in the centre of the back three.

But that does not rule out that one or both of Acerbi and de Vrij could stay.

Of de Vrij’s goal and excellent performance yesterday, agent Pastorello said that “He deserves all this.”

“He’s a guy who’s always been a total professional. I’m very happy for him.”

Meanwhile, of contract extensions for de Vrij and Acerbi, Pastorello said that he is discussing it with Inter.

“But right now it’s the transfer window,” he added. “So we’ll deal with it in due time.”

Meanwhile, Pastorello also talked about the move of Inter keeper Andrei Radu to Venezia. “It’s a great opportunity,” he said. “And one that I’m sure Andrei will be able to take.”
