Inter Milan have made significant progress in their pursuit of Tarik Muharemovic, with the Bosnia defender placing other offers on hold as he waits to join the Nerazzurri, while negotiations with Sassuolo continue with a player exchange potentially holding the key to unlocking a deal.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto provided the update on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, delivering the clearest indication yet that Muharemovic is a priority target for Inter’s defensive rebuild.
“I want to reaffirm a name I have pushed strongly, Muharemovic is certainly on Inter’s shortlist,” Moretto said, via FCInter1908.
“There is a basic agreement with the player, who is putting other proposals on standby in order to wear the Nerazzurri shirt. What is missing is an agreement with Sassuolo, even though dialogue has been ongoing for some time.”
The sticking point is the fee.
Moretto revealed that a potential solution lies in the inclusion of a young Inter player who Sassuolo are keen on.
Indeed, a part-exchange structure that would reduce the cash component and satisfy both clubs.
“The situation can be unlocked by the possibility of inserting a technical counterpart. Perhaps a young player from the Inter world who Sassuolo like very much,” Moretto explained.
Juventus retain their interest thanks to their 50% sell-on clause from Muharemovic’s original sale.
However, Moretto was emphatic on the hierarchy.
“There is always Juventus, but Inter are the club moving with the most force.”
