Inter Milan were able to rediscover themselves when it mattered most in their narrow Serie A victory against Genoa yesterday.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews.
Yesterday’s match against Genoa was not an easy one for Inter Milan.
Nor was it one that the Nerazzurri would have expected to be straightforward. They had had to settle for a 2-2 draw with the same opposition in the reverse fixture at the start of the season.
Throughout the first half of yesterday’s match, the Grifone largely managed to contain Inter’s attack.
In the second half of yesterday’s match, the nerves naturally began to set in for Inter.
Three points were all but necessary for the Nerazzurri to bounce back from last weekend’s loss to Juventus and to keep the pressure on league leaders Napoli.

So Inter began to raise the tempo and push to find the breakthrough.
Still, the goal to break the deadlock didn’t arrive, as the match headed into its final twenty minutes.
But finally, Inter found themselves.
The quality of substitute Hakan Calhnaoglu’s delivery from a corner, and of Inter captain Lautaro Martinez’s header, was telling in the end.
