Inter Milan are unwilling to sell Davide Frattesi to Napoli in January, but would be open to negotiating with Roma.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Inter don’t want to strengthen a direct Serie A title rival.
Frattesi is now very much pushing for an exit from Inter.
The 25-year-old has not kicked up a fuss. But he now feels that it’s time for a change in scenery, as he is not happy with his playing time at the Nerazzurri.
There would be a couple teams with an interest in capitalizing on Frattesi’s situation.
Roma have been at the centre of the strongest transfer links. However, Napoli are also reportedly keen.
According to the Corriere, Inter’s stance would be quite different depending on whether it’s Roma or Napoli who come calling.
In the case of the Giallorossi, Inter would listen to offers.
The Nerazzurri would want a high fee, to be sure, to sell Frattesi this month. They’ve slapped a €45 million price tag on the Italian international.
But even if the Giallorossi were to offer a few million less than that, Inter would at the very least consider it.
On the other hand, Inter would want at least €60 million from Napoli.
That kind of price tag is effectively a “hands off” message from the Nerazzurri.
Inter would be reluctant to sell Frattesi to the Partenopei, considering that the two clubs are currently very much vying for the Serie A title.
