Inter Milan are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario this summer.
According to CalcioMercato.it, Inter are considering a move for the 29-year-old and could pay around €20 million to sign him.
Several other Italian clubs are also keen on Vicario, but the Nerazzurri are determined to beat their rivals to the player’s signature.
Yann Sommer is currently Inter’s first-choice goalkeeper, who has kept 14 clean sheets in 28 Serie A games this season.
Sommer has been a reliable presence between the sticks since joining the club in 2023, featuring in 134 matches across all competitions.
But he has turned 37 and Inter want to sign a younger goalkeeper.
The Serie A club still plan to retain Sommer for next season but as a backup option.
Vicario has endured a challenging 2024-25 campaign with Spurs, who are battling to survive in the Premier League.
While he is not solely to blame, the Italian has shipped in 50 goals in 31 league games this season, keeping just seven clean sheets.
He is contracted with the Lilywhites until 2028, but the London outfit could look to cash in on him this summer.
They signed Vicario for around €20m, and Inter are ready to meet that valuation.
Tottenham’s sole focus at the moment is avoiding a drop to the Championship.
With seven games remaining in the season, they are just a point above 17th-placed West Ham United.
Spurs have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach, with his first assignment coming against Sunderland in an away fixture on Sunday.
