Inter Milan are due to report back for preseason training on Saturday ahead of the new campaign, but Hakan Calhanoglu is amongst a group of players set to come back earlier.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, and via FCInterNews.it, Christian Chivu’s squad will join up on 26 July to begin physical preparations as they look to improve on last season’s trophyless campaign.

Friendlies have been arranged for next month, with Inter travelling to Monte Carlo to face Monaco on 8 August, before taking on Monza four days later and finishing off with a clash against Olympiacos in Bari on 16 August.

Calhanoglu, who has been heavily linked with a departure this summer, will report back to the Appiano Gentile training centre on Wednesday in order to carry out assessments on a slight calf injury.

He will be joined by Nicola Zalewski, Benjamin Pavard, and Yann Bisseck, with the group all suffering minor injuries during Inter’s Club World Cup campaign this summer.

The major absentee once the squad regroup will be midfielder Davide Frattesi, with the ex-Sassuolo man undergoing surgery and not due back until mid-August.
