Inter still hold hope of bringing Ivan Perišić back to San Siro, but their chances have taken a hit as rivals AC Milan move decisively in the same market.

According to Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, Perisic and his agent, Frane Jurcevic, remain keen on a departure from PSV Eindhoven.

The timing, however, is delicate.

PSV face Feyenoord in a crucial Eredivisie clash, and a win would extend their lead at the top of the table to a commanding margin.

That scenario could make the Dutch side less inclined to weaken their squad.

Inter have only proposed a paid loan for Perisic, a formula that does not fully convince PSV.

Matters have grown more complicated because Milan have beaten the Dutch club to another target, identified as a possible successor to the Croatian.

That development reduces PSV’s incentive to negotiate and limits Inter’s room to manoeuvre.

Elsewhere, Inter would only consider selling Denzel Dumfries for a fee in the region of €30 million. In that case, they have already lined up Brooke Norton-Cuffy as a replacement.

Midfield movement could also follow.

Curtis Jones remains the profile Inter favour if Davide Frattesi departs, with Nottingham Forest ready to sign the Italian on loan with an option to buy for around €40 million.

The obstacle lies on the Liverpool side, as the English club want Jones to extend his contract beyond 2027 before approving any temporary move, a condition the player’s entourage currently resists.
