Inter Milan certainly fall into the European giant category in world football. They’ve got a glowing record, both domestically in Serie A, as well as competing in the later stages of European competitions such as the Champions League.
They’re well on course to defend their Serie A title, which they won last season. Inter Milan are currently second in the table, but just three points adrift of league-leaders Napoli, whilst also having a game in hand on Antonio Conte’s side.
Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez have been hugely impressive in front of goal for the Italian giants this term. They’ve netted 21 goals between them in Serie A so far in the 2024/25 season. If they can remain injury-free, then Inter Milan could be on their way to winning back-to-back Serie A titles for the first time since 2009/10, where they won five league titles in a row.
In this year’s Champions League, they’ve all but mathematically confirmed their progression. They’re fourth in the table, and comfortably clear of ninth-placed Aston Villa, as we head into the final round of fixtures in that competition.
More impressively, Inter have only conceded one goal in their seven Champions League matches. That’s something they’ll be keen to continue to build on heading into the knockout stages.

Inter have seen off the challenge of Arsenal, RB Leipzig, Young Boys, and Sparta Prague without conceding a goal, and it’s that defensive solidarity that could be crucial for them in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
They’ll even take some positives from their 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, as the German side have often swept aside some of their opponents with relative ease, but not Inter Milan.
Inter Milan are priced at 16/1 on bet365 to win this year’s Champions League. It could be a tempting price for some keen bettors, especially considering that Arsenal are one of the favourites to win this tournament, even though Inter have already beaten them in this year’s competition.
You can use a bet365 bonus code to get the most out of this popular bookmaker, as they’re offering a sizeable amount of free bets, as well as having plenty of in-depth betting markets to explore on matches from the Champions League.
Despite being qualified automatically for the knockout stages amongst Europe’s elite, Inter will still be eager to pick up three points from matchday eight, as where they finish within the top-eight of the table will determine who they come up against in the later stages.
At home to an inconsistent Monaco team is probably the ideal scenario for them, especially when the French side need a win themselves, which could lead to Inter being able to pick them apart on the counter-attack.
The tide seems to be turning at the San Siro for Inter Milan, as previous years of struggling for momentum seem to be over. They’re certainly heading in the right direction under the watchful eye of Simone Inzaghi, whose patience with this team is starting to be rewarded.
The Champions League is the next step for Inter Milan to get back and assert their dominance on the European stage, and if their recent performances in this competition so far are to go by, then they’ll certainly surprise a few of the favourites such as Manchester City, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal.
