Inter reach agreement with Tottenham for Cristian Romero, agreement with player missing | OneFootball

Serie A side Inter have signed John Stones on a free transfer but this hasn’t ruled out their move for Tottenham’s Cristian Romero.

Discussions for the player were held before a move for the Englishman was sealed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter won’t stop at Stones and still want to sign the Tottenham captain.

As a result, they have reached an agreement with the London side for the Argentine. The two clubs have agreed a deal worth €40 million but Inter haven’t agreed terms with the player, who demands a lofty wage of €8 million per season.

A move would progress only if Alessandro Bastoni leaves. Other clubs have been interested in the Italian but no formal offers have been made yet, with Inter valuing the centre-back at €60 million. If suitors in Spain or Saudi Arabia meet that valuation, Inter’s backline would change dramatically and Romero would come in as a replacement.
