Inter team news – Dumfries & Sucic could be dropped as captain returns to XI | OneFootball

Inter head coach Cristian Chivu is considering resting Denzel Dumfries for Saturday’s trip to Cagliari, as the latest Inter team news suggests that Matteo Darmian could enter in his place.

Elsewhere, as per Sky Sport’s predicted XI for the game, Henrikh Mkhitaryan continues to rotate with Petar Sucic and the experienced Armenian is expected to come into Chivu’s side.

Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer has also been the subject of much rotation-talk and will return to the XI against Cagliari in place of Josep Martinez, who played in goal for Inter in last weekend’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo.

Inter team news – Lautaro returns in place of starlet Pio Esposito

In other news, captain Lautaro Martinez is likely to return to the starting eleven, in place of his deputy Francesco Pio Esposito; the Italian starlet performing wonderfully in the Argentine’s absence.

Lautaro will partner Marcus Thuram up front.

Darmian is the most likely candidate if Chivu chooses to rest Dumfries, although Sky note that Luis Henrique is in contention for a place and Nerazzurri fans online have been calling for the Brazilian to be given the chance to start the game.
