Serie A side Inter have been pushing to sign Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic. Over the week, rumours have spoken of the Nerazzurri reaching agreement over personal terms with the defender.
This was covered by Get Italian Football News, as it appeared that the Milan giants were inching closer to a deal.
Now, Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has opened up about the player’s situation. He denied that Inter have agreed terms with the player, revealing the Nerazzurri haven’t even approached them over a move.
He told the media, ahead of the Neroverdi’s league game against Fiorentina: “The satisfaction comes from having showcased more players who can aspire to big clubs.”
Appearing to warn suitors, Carnevali said Sassuolo won’t be forced to sell the Bosnian.
“I’ve read about agreements already reached with some clubs, and there are some clubs we haven’t spoken to yet. We want to strengthen ourselves, and it’s not a given that we have to sell him and give him up.”
Muharemovic has been one of the best defenders in Serie A this season. He has impressed with his ball-playing ability, also using his physical abilities very well. This makes him an appealing target for not just Inter but other clubs too.
