Born in Ponteland, the 19-year-old 'keeper was named on the bench of a senior matchday squad for the first time during Newcastle’s 2023/24 UEFA Champions League visit of AC Milan but has yet to make his senior bow.

Harrison, who joined Newcastle's Academy at under-13 level, was handed his under-21s debut during a Premier League 2 clash against Manchester City in April and has made four appearances for Newcastle's second-string so far this season across the Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and National League Cup.

Born on October 20th, 2006 - when America by Razorlight was number one in the UK charts - Harrison penned his first professional contract in the summer of 2024 as a 17-year-old.

Reflecting on his first involvement in a senior matchday squad almost two years ago after signing his maiden pro deal, Harrison said: “When I found out I was going to be in the squad for one of Newcastle’s biggest games in many years, I didn’t think it was real at first.

“To be involved in one of the biggest tournaments in football was an amazing step in my career. I gained a lot of experience during that game, walking out in front of 52,000 fans and being around top class players I watched and looked up to as a kid. I learnt a lot from the game and took home many special memories I will always look back on.

“I was over the moon when I found out I was offered a professional contract. To do it with the team me and my family have have always supported and seeing where the club is going, is a once in a lifetime opportunity which I am very grateful for."

Harrison features on the bench alongside fellow Academy graduate Max Thompson for this evening's clash at the BayArena but if the young Geordie makes his Magpies bow, he will become the club's youngest goalkeeper to play in a European fixture since Tim Krul in 2006, who made his Newcastle debut during a UEFA Cup clash against Palermo within a month of Harrison's birth.
