Ipswich and Coventry are both planning for life in the Premier League next season
Ipswich Town and Coventry City are both aiming to survive in the Premier League next season after gaining automatic promotion.
The Tractor Boys have gone straight back into the top flight at the first time of asking, with Kieran McKenna’s securing their status in the division on the final day.
But Coventry are ending a 25-year wait to compete at the highest level of English football again, as they will make their return after being relegated in 2001.
Frank Lampard’s side won the Championship title with a comfortable 11 point margin on the Suffolk outfit, earning plenty of plaudits on their way to top spot.
It promises to be a busy summer ahead for both clubs, as they will want to strengthen in order to maintain their status in the Premier League long-term.
Both managers will be keen to reinforce their squad, while still giving the players who earned promotion a chance to prove themselves in the top flight.

It has been reported by Teamtalk that Ipswich and Coventry are both among the clubs interested in signing Ethan Nwaneri this summer.
The forward spent the second half of the campaign on loan with French side Marseille after struggling to break into Mikel Arteta’s first team plans.
The 19-year-old made nine appearances in Ligue 1, including three starts, contributing two goals and one assist.
Now his future at the Emirates is up in the air after the Gunners won their first league title in 22 years.
Nwaneri is attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Italian side Como, who have qualified for the Champions League next season under Cesc Fabregas.
The Serie A side are believed to be pushing hardest to secure his signature, but no final decision has yet been made on the next step in the teenager’s career.
Ipswich and Coventry are two of five Premier League teams also keen on Nwaneri, with Everton, Newcastle and Aston Villa all also in the mix.
While the two newly-promoted sides are prioritising a loan option, the other top flight teams are more interested in a permanent deal.
Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also understood to be in the competition for the Arsenal youngster’s signature.
Any decision on Nwaneri’s future is likely to come after Arsenal’s season concludes, as they face PSG in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Arsenal have developed another extremely promising young star in Nwaneri, and he is still only 19 so he could become a key part of Arteta’s plans in the future.
So a loan move might be the Gunners’ preferred option at this stage, which would open the door for Ipswich and Coventry.
But Como will have money to spend this summer, and could need to replace Nico Paz if he makes his return to Real Madrid, meaning a permanent offer could convince Arsenal to sell at the right price.
There’s no doubt he has the potential to be a very valuable addition for either Coventry or Ipswich, as even with limited game time in Ligue 1 this year he showed flashes of brilliance and a lot of potential.
