Iran's football federation said in a statement that it intends to lodge a complaint with FIFA over restrictions placed on its team at the 2026 World Cup and that those measures run counter to equal conditions for all teams and risk harming preparation ahead of Sunday's match against Belgium at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, scheduled for 21:00.
Iran had already been angered by the US refusal to grant visas to some members of its backroom staff for the tournament.

The team opened their campaign on Monday night with a 2-2 draw against New Zealand.
The squad were allowed to arrive in Los Angeles only one day before that game.
They then had to return swiftly to their base camp, which has been relocated to Mexico.
