Inter Miami finished the weekend with a horrible loss in the derby against Orlando City. Despite the result (4-1), Javier Mascherano was criticized for not being prepared for crucial matches.

But the bad news for the Herons didn't stop with the bad result on Sunday. Inter Miami has sold Federico Redondo to Elche for a $2.5 million deal. Once the player ends the medical procedure, he will sign the contract.

A complicated move for the squad, considering the team is facing Tigres and LA Galaxy in less than a week and a half.

Was the decision to sell Redondo to Spain the correct one?

With the addition of Rodrigo De Paul, Inter Miami covered the possible space Redondo's departure would have left.

Why is this? Having many players as other options. Redondo was, little by little, released from consideration.

During the last couple of matches, Federico Redondo was not included in the starting lineup and became a regular sub for Mascherano.

Also, when the midfielder entered the field, he didn't perform well. Too Slow in transitions with and without the ball, and far from his mark.

The departure of Redondo was a good move for David Beckham because they managed to get a fair price for a player who wasn't in the coach's plans.

However, you lost almost $5 million from the price you signed him for. Yet, understanding the world of football, his value would continue to decrease over time.

Redondo's numbers with Inter Miami

The midfielder arrived at Inter Miami in February of 2024 from Argentinos Juniors. The deal was closed $7.45 million, according to TransferMarkt.

During his time with the Herons, Redondo played 60 games, scoring two goals and giving four assists. Last season, he was part of the team that lifted the Supporters' Shield.
