Newcastle United battled back to seal a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday to head confidently into the international break.
The Magpies enjoyed the better start, but Murillo put the hosts ahead after 21 minutes.
However, Eddie Howe’s side came out with renewed energy after the break and levelled the scores through Alexander Isak.
Joelinton curled in from the edge of the box to put them in control before Harvey Barnes wrapped up the win with a brilliant finish.
There were many encouraging performances for Newcastle in Saturday’s victory, including Joelinton, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff.
However, Isak was probably the most impressive of them all. The sensational player initiated the comeback by firing home the equaliser after Anthony Gordon’s corner dropped at his feet.
The 25-year-old completed 100 percent of his long balls and won two of his four aerial duels.
He had 46 touches in the game and completed 24 of his 27 passes.
The Sweden international registered three key passes and set up Joelinton for the team’s second after 72 minutes.
Isak has been enjoying an excellent form this campaign. In 11 appearances across all competitions, he has scored five goals and provided two assists.
The highly-rated striker missed two games due to a broken toe, but he has been in top form since returning to the team.
He has now scored in each of his previous four matches in all competitions.
