Ismael Fadel turns 22 next week, and a fresh chance in Segunda Division could follow. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Jeremy Mellot’s dismissal against Racing has opened the door for the winter signing to feature away to Real Sociedad B.

Weeks earlier, Mellot’s accumulation of bookings created a vacancy against Real Valladolid. Head coach Pablo Hernández viewed Fadel as ready, and he started in Pucela, contributing to a 0-4 for the albinegros.

Born and raised in Zaragoza, Fadel came through Real Zaragoza’s academy before opportunities dried up. He was loaned to SD Ejea after representing Morocco at youth level and shifting from midfield to defence.

He impressed with Ejea in Tercera and Segunda RFEF and shone for Aragón in the UEFA Regions’ Cup, yet a return to Zaragoza did not materialise. Last summer he joined Yeclano Deportivo in Segunda RFEF under Iván Martínez, his former Ejea coach.

Strong form in Segunda RFEF drew interest, notably from the Almería and Murcia areas. Castellón won the race in January and signed him until June 2027.

President Bob Voulgaris has presented Fadel as a promising project with a pathway like Jozhua Vertrouwd’s first season, training with the first team and staying available to the B team. He quickly became a starter for the reserves.

With the B team he has operated at centre-back, showing crisp ball-striking, composure and strength in duels. If Mellot’s ban is confirmed, a second senior outing could arrive at Real Sociedad B.
