Eintracht’s new signing Otávio has arrived at the training camp in Grassau and completed his first training session with the Eagles.

Before the Frankfurt boys started jogging around the pitch for 10 minutes, Adi Hütter gathered his charges in a circle. After some nice words for the new signing and applause from his new team-mates, it was down to business. Two fans took the opportunity to unfurl a huge flag of Otávio’s homeland Brazil.Following his first training session, Otávio spoke about…

… his first hours in Eintracht colours: “It’s been a really good start. I’ve been given a warm welcome by everyone, both by the staff and the team. It feels good to be here.”

… compatriot Kaua Santos: “It’s important to know someone in the team with the same roots. We Brazilians naturally spend a lot of time together and support each other where we can – he supports me and I’ll support him if he needs me.”

… the first training session: “Kaua Santos was a big help straight away when the coach was explaining the exercises and Kaua translated for me.”

… the move from Portugal to Germany: “I’m looking forward to the Bundesliga and the higher level in Germany. After a really successful year in Portugal, I’m going to do everything I can to also find my feet as quickly as possible in Germany.”

… the reasons behind his decision: “I’m aware that Eintracht put a lot of trust in young talents. I think the style of play also suits me.”
