However, a new report has emerged from Spain indicating that Rodri will be available for the beginning of next season. If that report is correct, that is welcome news for Manchester City.

Spanish publication Larazon has provided a fresh update on Rodri’s mystery injury. As per the Larazon report, Rodri is scheduled to undergo minor surgery on his back injury once the World Cup is complete. It is also reported that the surgery that Rodri will undergo is considered an ‘in and out’ procedure which will take ‘less than 15 minutes’. Furthermore, it is reported that Rodri isn’t expected to miss any time during Manchester City’s preseason when he returns from his time off after the World Cup. It is expected that the Ballon d’Or-winning midfielder will be ready for the beginning of the 2026-27 season.
