Serie A has two representatives in North America.

Indeed, Juventus and Inter Milan form a cluster of European heavyweights fighting for the trophy.

While the new format excites football fans, it has also sparked debate about scheduling, player fatigue, and long-term sustainability.

FIFA introduced this new format as if the schedule in European football hasn’t already been grueling enough.

However, while the tournament threatens to undermine players’ fitness, it promises significant financial rewards for the clubs.

Furthermore, it’s an opportunity for the clubs to expand their fan bases across the continents.

Despite acknowledging concerns surrounding the tournament, Bellinazzo highlighted the substantial financial backing.

“The revenues have come from Saudi Arabia, but also from sponsors and ticket sales,” he said.

“There are matches with 6,000 spectators and matches with 80,000.

“We’re certainly seeing tired European teams, but it’s a great four-year experiment.”

Though the new tournament format adds to fitness challenges, the concept looks promising.

Indeed, it’s hard to escape the supposition that the Club World Cup will become a major fixture on the global football calendar.

Given a sizeable prize pool, all participants have shown a genuine intent to take the competition seriously.

For Cristian Chivu, it’s been a perfect opportunity to get familiar with the Inter squad.

However, fatigue has taken its toll on the Nerazzurri, depriving the Romanian of several first-team stars.

Yet, the Frenchman should be in contention for Thursday’s decisive clash against River Plate.
