Italian media have framed Inter Milan’s 1-0 victory away to Udinese as a win built on responsibility, discipline and quiet revenge for head coach Cristian Chivu.
As Corriere dello Sport points out, the three points carried a “sweet and double revenge.”
Before this match, Chivu had already faced Udinese twice in his coaching career, suffering two defeats.
That context gave extra meaning to a victory that also symbolically closed the circle on a painful chapter from earlier in the season.

The newspaper recalls how the defeat at San Siro on August 31 marked “the dawn of a season that would later change direction dramatically.”
At that stage, Inter were still searching for balance and identity. Since then, Chivu’s side have grown steadily, gaining altitude and “forcing the others into a frantic chase” at the top of the table.
A key factor in that transformation has been consistency against mid and lower table opponents.
According to the Roman daily, Inter have become “almost lethal” in these fixtures, finding an antidote to their more uneven record in direct clashes with rivals, an issue that still needs addressing.
Central to Inter’s current momentum is their renewed defensive solidity.
The paper identifies responsibility as the defining word of this phase, a concept Chivu himself has repeatedly stressed.
Every player now accepts his role, both with and without the ball, allowing Inter to maintain a constant tempo across matches.
Wins like the one in Udine offer a clear snapshot of that evolution.
They reflect not only a solid group, but also the clarity of a project that Chivu is steadily imprinting on his team, built on collective discipline rather than spectacle alone.
