Italy starlets Gnonto and Koleosho earn Premier League promotion | OneFootball

Italy international Willy Gnonto has helped take Leeds United to promotion into the Premier League with a rare header, while Under-21 talent Luca Koleosho is promoted with Burnley.

The 21-year-old has 13 senior caps for Italy, scoring one goal, having also represented his country at various youth levels.

Since the move to Leeds United in 2022 and their drop to the Championship, Gnonto has been largely left out of the senior Azzurri side, instead returning to Under-21 level.

Gnonto was on target in today’s 6-0 win over Stoke City with a rare header, as he was the shortest man on the pitch.

He now has seven goals and give assists in 41 Championship games for Leeds United this season.

That victory, plus Burnley’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United, guaranteed promotion to the Premier League for both teams.

Burnley also have Italian representation in the form of winger Koleosho, who has two goals in 27 Championship games this term.
