Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has responded firmly to speculation surrounding his future, making it clear that no talks over a new contract have taken place. The Austrian coach, whose current deal runs until the end of the season, has been linked with moves elsewhere, including discussions around Manchester United as they weigh up managerial options.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that Glasner had rejected a new offer from Crystal Palace. Those claims were swiftly dismissed by the 50-year-old during his Friday media duties.
“There are so many rumours and factors,” Glasner said, “We didn’t talk about a contract, I haven’t been offered a contract so I therefore cannot reject a contract offer. That is the situation.
“We are so focused on performing and there are no talks at the moment about my contract situation. That’s my situation. Everything else is really fake news.”
His remarks underline how far removed he wants his players and staff to be from outside noise, particularly with Palace aiming to push higher in the Premier League table during the coming weeks.

Sky Sports News has reported that Crystal Palace are expected to increase discussions with Glasner during the international break. The club have been pleased with the impact he has made since arriving at Selhurst Park, with his structured tactical approach and ability to energise players winning plaudits.
Despite this, no official offer has yet been presented. It leaves Palace supporters anxious over whether Glasner, who has quickly built trust among the squad, will commit his long-term future to South London.
Adding to the speculation is Glasner’s name surfacing in conversations about the Manchester United job. With uncertainty surrounding their managerial direction, figures like Ruben Amorim and Glasner have repeatedly been mentioned as potential candidates.
For Palace, the priority remains ensuring stability and focus for the season ahead, yet the spotlight on Glasner’s future will not fade quickly given United’s interest and Palace’s apparent hesitation to formalise an extension.
While Glasner has attempted to shut down false claims, fans are eager for clarity from the club hierarchy. Securing Glasner on a new contract would send a strong message of intent and remove lingering doubts, particularly as speculation from elsewhere gathers pace.
For now, Palace will hope their manager’s insistence on prioritising performances translates into results on the pitch, as talks wait to be had off it.
