Manchester United have been desperately trying to move Jadon Sancho on this summer, and one of his former clubs have re-entered the fray as per latest reports.
All signs were pointing towards a switch to Juventus, who have been trying to bring down United’s asking price while also simultaneously trying to agree a lower wage packet with the English forward.
Even a medical was reportedly scheduled, but The Peoples Person had relayed that Italian media houses were getting way ahead of themselves and that a move was far from close.
Juve have reportedly moved on to other targets such as Francisco Conceicao and Joao Mario while also trying to win the race for Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani, who is incidentally a United target as well.
Now, as relayed by Tribuna, Borussia Dortmund have rejoined the race for the England international.
They have been long-term admirers of a player they have had on their books for two different spells. They had stayed away from submitting a concrete offer due to the significant costs involved.
United have reduced their asking price from €28 million to €18-20 million for the ex-Manchester City academy graduate.
For now, the Bundesliga giants have adopted a wait-and-watch policy and are discussing internally whether to take the plunge.
Jadon Sancho would love to return to the WestfalenStadion if both clubs can agree a deal.
There is no mention of personal terms in the report, which suggests a move is far from concrete at this stage.
The report also mentioned that talks between United and Juventus have completely stalled and no progress has been made in talks.
United were hoping that Chelsea would take him off their hands when they agreed a loan deal last summer. Enzo Maresca and Sancho’s own wage demands put paid to those hopes.
