Chelsea’s Cobham production line may have struck gold again with Tyrique George after Jadon Sancho claimed the youngster had the world at his feet.
George is a highly rated prospect in the academy and made was handed his first team debut in the second leg of Chelsea’s Conference League qualifier against Servette, a moment he recently reflected on.
The 18-year-old has made five appearances in total for the first team, but given the competition for places in the attacking third he faces a tough task to break into the side on a regular basis.
Enzo Maresca has shown he’s willing to integrate youngsters into the first set-up, with George and number of other academy talents often joining first team training.
The teenager started his first senior game in the recent 8-0 win against Armenian side Noah in the Conference League, but is still waiting to register his first goal contribution.
It appears the cup competitions are George’s best chance of getting first team minutes as he’s yet to make a match day squad in the Premier League.
