Sky Germany reports that Jeremie Frimpong is planning to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer and has his eyes on a move to LaLiga.
The Dutch international wanted to leave Leverkusen last summer but the fact that head coach Xabi Alonso stayed at the club convinced Frimpong to stay as well, now though, he is looking to leave.
The 24-year-old dreams of a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. While he is not interested in moving to the Premier League as he sees the league as too physical for him and his style of play, despite being previously linked to clubs such as Manchester United.
Frimpong’s contract at Leverkusen expires in 2028.
There is no doubt about the 24-year-old’s ability, but Frimpong needs to decide if he is either a defender or an attacker. As of right now, he has hit his ceiling.
He isn’t good enough, either one on one or in front of goal, to be a winger and he isn’t reliable enough defensively to be a full-back. This means he has to fit into a very specific style of play, and as of right now, there are not a lot of clubs that offer him this.
