Joao Mario in advanced talks for Fiorentina with €9m option to buy from Juventus | OneFootball

Fiorentina are working hard to get Joao Mario on loan from Juventus with an option to buy for a total fee of circa €9m.

The full-back has struggled to make an impact since his €12m transfer from FC Porto in the summer of 2025.

As part of that agreement, Porto are also owed a 10 per cent cut of the profit from a future sale, which would mean getting nothing in this case because his value has dropped.

The Portugal international was loaned out to Bologna in January as part of an exchange with Emil Holm going the other way.

However, neither club decided to make it a permanent move, so Joao Mario returned to Turin.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, talks are at an advanced stage for him to remain in Serie A with Fiorentina.

It is expected to be a loan with option to buy at the end of the season for a total fee of €8-9m.

The 26-year-old made just 13 appearances for Juventus, contributing one assist, before going to Bologna and picking up another 15 games with two goals.
