Jorgen Strand Larsen left Wolves on deadline day, completing a £43m move to Crystal Palace that was finalised late, with £5m in add-ons. Palace had been the frontrunners. He had looked likely to leave during the window amid interest from several Premier League clubs.

The transfer ends a two-year spell in which he scored 14 goals in his first season. His second campaign did not reach those heights and sections of the fanbase criticised him amid the club’s Premier League struggles. After his exit, the player said in a post that he wanted to thank everyone for their support.

In his message, he described the last six months as difficult for the team and for him personally. He expressed gratitude to fans, players and staff.

Reflecting on an injury sustained in the first game of the season, he admitted he should have taken more time to heal and that it had a bigger impact than it should.

He expressed sadness at leaving, pledged to keep supporting Wolves and described the club as having a special place in his heart.

His message said he would cherish the good moments, look back on last year’s record-breaking season with a smile, and wish the squad well for the rest of the campaign.
