Jorginho jokes as Riccardo Calafiori joins Rio samba, hints at bringing him to Mengão | OneFootball

Jorginho has joked on social media after a video showed former Arsenal team-mate Riccardo Calafiori at a samba in Rio de Janeiro. The player said in a post that he was bringing him to Mengão.

The pair played together for nine months at Arsenal between August 2024 and May 2025, before Jorginho completed his move to Flamengo.

With the European season over, Italy defender Calafiori is holidaying in Brazil and was seen on Monday enjoying the Samba do Trabalhador.

A clip filmed by singer Moacyr Luz, who leads the roda at Clube Renascença, shows Calafiori singing Tá Escrito by Grupo Revelação in Portuguese.

The defender also posted sunrise views from Morro Dois Irmãos in Leblon and took a helicopter trip to Cristo Redentor.

Calafiori won the Premier League with Arsenal last season and reached the Champions League final with the club. Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup after losing to Bosnia in the European play-offs.
